Spirit Fest Africa

Chanelle Segerius-Bruce

I almost didn’t go to this. It’s ridiculous when I think about it now. I felt like I had to work more, do more and be in my business. I hesitated to take a week off and enjoy myself.

Did that week off make a dent in my income? No, not at all. In fact, having some time away with my little girl and hubby to rest, rejuvenated and go within through yoga, meditation and journaling helped me to come to some realisations and big decisions for the direction of my business.

There were a lot of women I met at Sprit Fest searching for answers. I had meaningful conversations with people who wanted to find clarity and to know which direction to go in their lives. I love nothing more than hearing people’s stories and sharing deeply, which is why I love coaching. Tears were shared from both sides, things came up about my father who I lost 9 years ago – yes it still hurts.

A lot of clearing and healing happens at a place like Spirit Fest. Nestled in the foothills of the Citrusdal mountains flanked by rows of lemon and orange orchards you can’t help but feel connected to nature. The river was always full of kids swimming, couples canoeing, and even a few skinny dippers! The milky way shone down on us as we felt more connected to it and everyone as the week went on.

There’s no alcohol at Spirit Fest and the only people getting high where those high on life. Meditation, yoga and personal development talks filled the days, and banging beats by the likes of Epple Sauce echoed out into the night with everyone from little kids through to grandparents busting out a move.

I loved connecting with old friends like Jacki and making new ones for life. My daughter, Saharah, had a ball and tried yoga, hola hooping, and an animal communication class.

As soon as tickets go on sale I’ll be first in line to get my hands on them!

Here’s a fun little video we put together using a hand-held Panasonic Lumix and a Go Pro. No big fancy equipment here but I hope you get a glimpse into the fun we had!
